Emmanuel Tetteh
Biography
Dr. Emmanuel Tetteh is a Senior Human Factors Engineer at Carilion Clinic’s Center for Simulation, Research and Patient Safety. He was an Assistant Professor of Health Care Systems Engineering at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, and a Research Associate in Human Factors Engineering at Mayo Clinic’s Kern Center for the Science of Healthcare Delivery. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University of Science and Technology with a specialization in Human Factors and Ergonomics. A significant portion of his work has focused on exploring work-related drivers of workload and musculoskeletal disorders in healthcare workers, particularly, surgeons, nurses, and sonographers, and using that information to develop, test and deploy ergonomic interventions.
