Biography
Natasa Lazarevic, PhD, is an embedded Senior Human Factors Specialist at Sinai Health in Toronto, where she leads major digital transformation and technology renewal projects to improve clinician workflows and patient care. She has co-developed predictive AI models for clinical risk deterioration in post acute care and is currently advancing work on digital/AI readiness, usability, and workflow integration in healthcare settings.
Natasa’s AI expertise extends back to her doctoral research at the University of Sydney, where she developed a computer vision approach for measuring human body metrics and led the design of a pregnancy health app. Following her PhD, she worked at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, where she initiated and co-authored a College-wide AI response framework, delivered training on responsible and ethical AI, and contributed to national policy discussions on AI in healthcare.
Her research and practice focus on bridging human factors, healthcare innovation, and artificial intelligence to design safer, more usable, and ethically grounded systems that serve both clinicians and patients. Increasingly, she is interested in redefining the human factors toolkit to include emerging methods such as vibe coding and agentic AI, ensuring professionals are equipped to shape the next generation of healthcare technologies.
