Biography
Mrs. Smith has over 15 years of experience within the medical device, consumer, and government product development industries. As a Senior Human Factors Engineer and Industrial Designer, she focuses on uncovering the root causes behind user needs in order to design safe and effective solutions. Mrs. Smith is a versatile member of the Human-Centered Design team, encompassing a wide spectrum of product development, visual communications, human factors research, and usability engineering capabilities. Performing multiple roles, Mrs. Smith serves as the Technical Lead of the Human Centric Design Team in the design and development of products and systems, as well as the Principal Investigator in the planning and execution of contextual, user experience, and human factors engineering research and usability testing. Her experience includes the planning and execution of the full human centric design process including contextual and design research that inform design requirements and usability engineering specifications, the design and development of products and systems, the facilitation and analysis of usability testing, the evaluation of usability related risk and associated mitigation design and execution, and validation testing and support through regulatory approval processes.
