Dr. Constança Roquette, PhD, is a Researcher at the Nova SBE Health Economics & Management Knowledge Center and a leading expert in patient engagement. Her work, which formed the basis of her PhD, explores how patients interact with and adopt new health technologies.
As a professor of entrepreneurship at NOVA SBE and a collaborator with numerous patient associations and innovation projects, Dr. Constança bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world application. Her current research is focused on two of the most critical aspects of modern digital health: AI literacy and the usability of health solutions from the patient's perspective. She investigates how to empower patients to understand, trust, and effectively use complex AI-driven tools, ensuring that technology is designed for its end-users, not just for clinicians. Dr. Constança brings a vital perspective to the discussion, emphasizing that for any medical AI to be truly successful, its usability must be validated by the very people it is intended to help.
