Josh Clark, RN, MHA, is Vice President of Quality and Safety Operating Systems at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), where he partners with health systems worldwide to design and implement Care Operating Systems that enable the workforce to do their best work while building resilience and reliability into daily operations. Prior to joining IHI, Josh served as Senior Vice President of Quality and Safety Operations at Jefferson Health, an 18-hospital system in the greater Philadelphia region, where he led the launch of an industry-leading care operating system. He also served as Enterprise Senior Director of Quality and Safety at Carilion Clinic, a 7-hospital system in Virginia, where he helped build one of the nation’s largest clinically applied human factors teams. His leadership in advancing system resilience has been recognized nationally with the National Quality Forum’s Next Generation Innovator Award, ECRI and ISMP’s Safety Excellence Award, and recognition as a finalist for the AHA Quest for Quality Award.
