April Savoy

Biography
April Savoy is an associate professor and Solberg Academic Excellent Scholar at Purdue University in the School of Industrial Engineering. She is a faculty investigator at the Regenstrief Institute and the Center for Health Information and Communication at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indiana, where she also directs the Human Computer Interaction and Simulation Lab.
Dr. Savoy’s research objectives are to increase efficiency of clinical workflows, enhance care coordination, and improve the quality of healthcare delivery. As a human factors engineer, she uses the human-centered design process to develop, evaluate, and implement socio-technical interventions across healthcare systems and clinical settings. With her experience in ecommerce, gaming, and military information systems, she specializes in the design of health information technologies that enhance situational awareness and decision-making.
