Biography
Dr. Jing Yang is an assistant professor at Industrial & Systems Engineering at University at Buffalo. She received her Ph.D. from School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University in 2023. Her research centers on modeling human cognitive and behavioral states through non-intrusive wearable sensors, such as cameras, neural sensors, eye trackers, heart rate monitors, and motion capture systems. By integrating these data streams with computational modeling techniques, she develops adaptive systems that support intelligent human–machine interactions across critical application domains. Her work has been funded by the NSF and NIH, including projects on advancing neuroadaptive technologies for seamless human–robot collaboration in surgery and improving human–AI teamwork in healthcare. In 2022, she was recognized as an Outstanding Researcher by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.
