Mark Lifson
Biography
Mark Lifson is the Director of AI/ML Engineering at Mayo Clinic, where he leads efforts within the Systems Engineering and Digital Health teams to enable the translation and deployment of AI and machine learning solutions across clinical, research, and operational environments. His work focuses on bridging technical implementation with regulatory alignment, human-centered design, and organizational governance to ensure that AI-enabled tools are safe, effective, and appropriate for real-world use. He serves as an AI expert reviewer on Mayo Clinic’s Institutional Review Board, supporting the evaluation of emerging technologies for patient safety and workflow integration. Mark’s background spans biomedical engineering, translational AI/ML, and digital health innovation, with experience developing frameworks, processes, and infrastructure that support responsible AI adoption at enterprise scale.
