Hannah R. Roncallo
Biography
Hannah R. Roncallo, RN, MSRN, CEN, CHSE has worked in a variety of specialties within her nursing career at Yale New Haven Hospital, including maternity, medicine, and emergency services. She received her MSN in Nursing Education from Southern Connecticut State University where her thesis work was in the design, implementation, data collection, and assessment of experiential learning activities for undergraduate nursing students. Hannah’s contributions post-graduation within her role as a Nursing Professional Development Specialist focused on the use of simulation training for educating practicing nurses. As a part of an interprofessional educator team, she took part in the design and implementation of a series of interprofessional simulation scenarios with an emphasis on teamwork, communication, and collaboration across disciplines. These simulations were embedded into a larger nursing orientation program that she co-designed and employed within the emergency department for specialty roles and new nurses. This work was further developed and included in a curriculum-based, virtual reality, interprofessional simulation program for experienced nurses. Hannah also works as a simulation faculty member at Southern Connecticut State University for the undergraduate nursing education program.
