Biography
David Luo, MIE , Ph.D.
David Luo is a Healthcare Systems Engineer specializing in Human Factors in the Office of Performance Improvement in the Chief Quality Office, having joined MD Anderson in April 2019. Past projects include conducting a Human Factors common cause analysis (CCA) of patient identification errors at Pyxis machines and designing and implementing MD Anderson’s Tiered Readiness Briefings. Current projects include assigning human factors codes to all institutional root cause analyses (RCA) and leading the Patient Identification Taskforce, which is an Institutional Priority Focus Area.
He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering from the University of Houston, and his Ph.D. in Healthcare Management from the UTHealth School of Public Health.
