Biography
Dr. Ray is a Human Factors Engineer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She began her career with Yale-New Haven Health where she developed simulation-based human factors lines of service including facilitating interprofessional groups, consulting on process improvement efforts across a variety of clinical settings, and applying simulation-based user centered design to physical environment and work design. From 2018-2025 she held academic appointments first in Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Emergency Medicine (2018-2022) where she supported a variety of simulation educational programs and research in the areas of clinician stress, decision-support, and team-based health services and later at the University of Florida (2022-2025) where her work focused clinical decision support and improving patient-clinician interaction through informatics and technology-based interventions. She has recently returned to a hospital based position in the Office of Quality and Patient Safety at St Jude Children's Research Hospital where she is continuing her work to advance HFE methods and practice to support high quality, safe patient care.
